Why I Chose Pediatrics:

I initially chose pediatrics because I was a new mother and interested in the health and well-being of children. Now that my children are older, I find I enjoy interacting with both young children and teenagers. Having been a new parent in my life, I also enjoy helping other new parents gain confidence and skill in raising their own children.

Special Medical Interests

I was a physical therapist prior to medical school, so sports injuries are particularly interesting to me. I also enjoy taking care of sick patients in the office as well as musculoskeletal injuries.

Hobbies

I have been serving the people of eastern NC since 2005, after moving here from Massachusetts. My family of five, including three children and my husband, keep me busy in my spare time, mostly with water based activities. When not at work, you will most likely find me swimming, running, playing the piano or taking pictures.  I joined Pirate Pediatrics in 2017 while continuing work in the hospital setting.
